This DIY Macrame inspired wall hanging is super cute and easy to make! All you’ll need is a wooden dowel, a pair of scissors, twine, and colored thick yarn of your choice. (I went with a mustard yellow and speckled white.)
Start by cutting looped pieces (as shown in second picture) and set up what you’ll want your hanging to look like with the longest piece of yarn in the middle. Then, start wherever you’d like. For example, if you start with the piece on the right, measure three or four more pieces the same length and loop together and tie onto the dowel. Repeat for all pieces. If you like the thickness and look of your hanging, you’re done! Remember, it might need some tweaking. I realized my middle pieces were thin so I ended up adding an additional four pieces looped together, which is how the center of my hanging ended up being a lot thicker than the other pieces. It’s all up to you! When you’re ready to hang it up, grab the twine and tie on either end of the dowel.
Voila! A super cute and easy macrame inspired wall hanging, perfect for any room’s decoration!
